This case has been covered and known as the treadmill abuse case on the internet and TV.
In live courtroom footage, forensic pathologist Dr. Tom Andrew provided expert testimony regarding six-year-old Corey Micciolo’s death. Dr. Andrew testified that Corey’s injuries, including severe lacerations to the heart and liver, were not the result of attempted CPR. This information was presented during the trial of Corey’s father, Christopher Gregor, who is accused of causing his death. The defense claimed that Corey died of natural causes, including pneumonia. Dr. Andrew’s review of the case was influential in determining the cause of death as a homicide.
In May, Christopher Gregor was found guilty of aggravated manslaughter and child endangerment. Gregor could face up to 40 years in prison, with his sentencing set for August 2nd, 2024.
